Marchwiel Estate combines sensitively designed structures set around an historic stone Homestead, to create a distinctively rural Tasmanian resort experience.

The redevelopment proposes a small, boutique retreat with a total of five formal guest suites and a further three residential rooms in the ‘Shearers Quarters’ lodge. The accommodation suites are housed within the refurbished stone Homestead and new accommodation pavilion. Shared living areas for guests are provided in a Living Pavilion adjacent the Homestead.

Intimate experiences in line with the rural character of the region include simple activities based around the sharing and preparation of food, bathing and relaxation. Guests can take cooking classes in the generous kitchen and work with the best local ingredients from the established orchard and kitchen garden. 

The residential structures are inter-connected with a Lounge verandah that extends to incorporate a bridge across Bream Creek. The bridge provides access for guests to a Bath House, complete with hot pools, sauna, steam room and treatment areas set around an 11 metre high circular waterfall. The Bath House sits behind the Marion Bay Beach foreshore and reconnects the place with the creek and the ocean beyond.
