The most significant part of this project was to strip out the 1980s renovation and to pronounce the character of the original 1850s structure concealed by layers of plasterboard. All the original structural elements were refurbished using the lightest touch.
The new layout’s central stair and lift take advantage of an existing skylight to provide natural light to the heart of the floor plan.

This project carefully balances the community’s interests in preserving the building’s heritage listed interior whilst at the same time providing a vibrant workplace that achieves the levels of comfort and serviceability now expected in commercial environments.
